The duties and responsibilities for a Supervisory Budget Analyst, GS-0560-14 generally include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Oversee budget formulation, execution, and financial analysis across multiple programs or funding sources.
- Direct development of complex budget estimates, multi-year projections, and strategic funding plans.
- Resolve high-level financial issues and provide authoritative guidance to staff and leadership.
- Interpret and apply advanced budget policies, funding authorities, and financial regulations.
- Oversee execution of approved budgets and ensure compliance with financial controls and requirements.
- Review and approve major financial reports, analyses, and resource recommendations.
- Direct preparation, review, and approval of funding actions and financial documentation.
- Oversee use of financial systems for data extraction, validation, analysis, and reconciliation.
- Provide expert advice on funding strategies, resource allocation, and financial risks.
- Lead improvements to budget workflows, reporting practices, and financial controls.
- Oversee year-end closeout activities and resolve complex execution issues.
- Supervise staff, assign work, evaluate performance, and provide coaching, feedback, and development.
- Oversee workload distribution, establish priorities, and ensure timely completion of all assignments.
- Participate in recruitment, selection, training, and disciplinary actions as required.
- Promote effective communication, team coordination, and adherence to administrative and HR policies.

QualificationsTo qualify for the position of Supervisory Budget Analyst, at GS-0560-14 you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service, which includes: Developing complex budget estimates and/or multi-year plans; interpreting and/or applying advanced budget policies to resolve significant financial issues; Overseeing the execution of budgets across multiple or complex funding sources; Preparing or approving major financial reports and/or funding strategies; Advising leadership on resource decisions and program impact.
