Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in either the WXMRL or WXMRM section of the Electromagnetic Spectrum Warfare Department (WX), Maritime Electromagnetic Warfare Systems Division (WXM) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The full performance level of NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14.

Duties

Help

  • You will serve as a section manager for either the Sustainment Operations Section (WXMRL) or the Sustainment Support Section (WXMRM) within the Sustainment Engineering Branch (WXMR).
  • You will provide inputs to the Branch Manager in regards to the resourcing and performance of employees.
  • You will provide inputs and facilitate processes to maintain cost, schedule, and performance in order to meet Fleet and Program Office needs.
  • You will review and evaluate section metrics to identify trends and assess continuous improvement opportunities.
  • You will work with the WXM management team to identify and communicate issues.
  • You will work closely with the Branch Manager on strategic initiatives to meet changing workloads and demands.
  • You will work with Division Management to provide inputs to Data Calls.
  • You will work with employees on development plans and training opportunities to maximize the workforce.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position may require the incumbent to be able to lift and carry up to fifty pounds.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/GS-12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) executing or overseeing material movement, asset accountability, and logistics operations (e.g., processing DD-1149s, DD-1348s, and RFI workflows) within a secure industrial, depot, or engineering environment; (2) actively enforcing workplace safety and compliance standards, including 6S methodologies, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protocols, and/or Weight Handling Equipment (WHE) safety oversight; AND (3) leading or executing EITHER depot-level electronics component repair and production management (such as supporting performance-based logistics metrics) OR system-level integration testing and sustainment engineering for complex combat or electronic warfare systems (such as the AN/SLQ-32).

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The full performance level of NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14. The salary range shown in the announcement represents all of the positions within the band, including GS-14 equivalent (high grade) positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $118,204).

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
