In this role you'll lead a geographically dispersed team responsible for enterprise-wide safety training programs, communications, and tools that directly impact how our people work safely every day. In this highly collaborative role, you'll partner across business units, Safety Management Systems, and enterprise learning teams to drive alignment, innovation, and continuous improvement-ensuring our safety programs remain effective, compliant, and built for the future.

What You Will Do
  • Lead and supervise a team responsible for enterprise-wide safety and environment training, safety communications, and their related services - including ownership and administration of the Health and Safety Training Program and it's supporting, tools, resources and processes.
  • Oversee development, implementation, sustainment, and continuous improvement of safety training and communications-related programs (including computer-based and instructor-led courses, supporting processes, templates, standards, tools/systems, and governance) to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment to industry best practices.
  • Drive enterprise alignment and harmonization of safety training and communications across business units (common terminology, governance structure, procedures, and integrated approaches to solutioning).
  • Lead efforts and initiatives to close gaps, mitigate key risks, and advance team and department priorities. Ensure MOC processes are followed to ensure change impacts are understood, planned for, and communicated and documented effectively to manage risk and maintain safe and responsible operations and projects.
  • Support safety strategy and planning, including contributing to strategic plans, measurement criteria, annual objectives, and quarterly progress updates. Ensure organizational objectives are translated into the team's activities; and ensure integration with the work of other stakeholders.


Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferably in Occupational Health & Safety or Learning & Development).
  • Seven or more years of directly related health and safety experience.
  • Demonstrated management, leadership and coaching/mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, strategic, initiate and manage change, work collaboratively, negotiate, influence, facilitate, solve problems, make decisions, work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results.
  • Proven interpersonal, communication, writing and computer skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing training and learning programs within an operations and office environment within the oil and gas or petrochemical industry is preferred.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Salary:
  • Ranges from $111,870 - $140,000 CAD for Canadian locations (except Alberta) based upon candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity.
  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
