Full Job Description

Plains has an immediate opening for a Corrosion Specialist working out of our Houston, Texas, head office.  Reporting to the Corporate Internal Corrosion Supervisor, you will function as an operations and stakeholder liaison to optimize projects in line with business needs and requirements. In addition, you will participate in strategic initiatives in accordance with company goals, policies, and the Internal Corrosion Program to achieve safe and cost-effective operations. Our ideal candidate has leadership aptitude and excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills, including conflict resolution with the ability to interface effectively with management, field personnel, and peers. Occasional travel to field locations is expected and required (10%).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist local operations in the completion of internal corrosion tasks to ensure all activities are completed consistently and efficiently.
  • Track trends through data gathering and review, workload prioritization, and KPI monitoring to identify gaps and propose strategies to close those gaps.
  • Improve efficiency within the Operational Integrity team by identifying opportunities to develop consistency across North America.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret integrity execution data to establish trends, identify gaps, and develop actionable insights.
  • Review data to ensure compliance is met when conducting activities related to the internal corrosion program as well as pipeline and facility integrity. Identify any areas of non-compliance and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Assist in the completion and management of the facility flow assessment procedures, associated data, and mitigation plans.
  • Participate in low volume reviews across North America and monitor completion of identified mitigation activities.
  • Aid in the standardization of integrity activities across North America for the internal corrosion program.
  • Provide SME-related support to operations regarding internal corrosion and integrity execution.
  • Provide detailed communication to stakeholders and deliver timely project updates and reports.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel to field locations (10%).
  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities and proven ability to tackle complicated challenges.
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
  • Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
