JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Opportunity

The Supervisor, Procurement role has delegated authority to commit company funds. This is a Leader for the local procurement team. This position will work also on the definition and resolution of known or anticipated problems in value, quality, feasibility and specifications in the procurement of goods and services while contributing cost savings, partnerships with suppliers and other value-added activities to support customer needs and
expectations.

This position works out of our San Diego, CA location in our ARDx CMI division.

What You'll Work on
  • Provides leadership and direction in materials procurement.
  • Routes, executes and approves POs.
  • Communicate and educate appropriate departments to provide appropriate supporting documentation for purchases.
  • Supports regular material planning including achievement of raw material inventory targets.
  • Builds relationships with key local suppliers; monitors supplier performance and contributes to business reviews as needed.
  • Identifies opportunities for cost improvement and develop strategies to optimize the total procurement cost of raw materials, supplies, spare parts, and other MRO items.
  • Coordinates purchasing benchmarks and develop complementary purchasing strategic plans to enhance Abbott's purchasing practices, including resource requirements.
  • Assists with management teams at the customer plant level, to support project execution, including methodology to process engineering purchase requisitions, bidding and other supply chain optimization opportunities.
  • Establishes and oversees the administration of all Corporate, and local Purchasing Policies, Procedures, and works with the Division Purchasing organization in ensuring compliance.
  • Researches and evaluates products and suppliers. Performs value analysis on costs and supplier quotes. • Recommends process improvements to streamline for efficiencies. Solves complex problems.
  • Educates others on existing solutions and enable performance and tech tools development.
  • Supports Ops issues and invoice error resolution.
  • PO change management and evaluate the cause for change.
  • Enable supplier integration and KPI's.
  • Provides advice/direction in primary areas of expertise.
  • Executes against the goals set by the Category Leads /Managers/Directors.
  • Drive innovative ways to maintain and improve procurement processes, cycle times, total acquisition costs, and customer service levels.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Science, Business, or Finance
  • Minimum 5 years Combined purchasing, inventory control, finance, operations or project management experience.
  • Minimum 2 years Supervisor experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • SC certifications preferred but not required.

The base pay for this position is
$90,000.00 - $180,000.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
