Role OverviewAs
Supervisor, Mine Operations (Development), you will be responsible for the daily planning, organization and follow-up of ramp and lateral development crews at Young-Davidson, one of Canada's largest underground gold mines. Reporting to the Captain, Production and Operations, you will provide visible leadership, promote company safety programs, support compliance with regulations and internal policies, and help crews achieve safe, consistent performance in a long-life operation with strong future potential.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership & Crew Supervision: Provide daily leadership, guidance, coaching and mentorship to assigned development crews while holding yourself and team members accountable for safety and performance targets.
- Underground Development Planning: Plan, communicate and follow up on ramp and lateral development work to support safe, productive underground operations.
- Safety & Compliance: Promote company safety programs, ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations, conduct workplace inspections and plan corrective measures as required.
- Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Identify operational issues, troubleshoot day-to-day challenges and apply practical solutions to help crews maintain safe and efficient progress.
- Communication & Reporting: Communicate expectations clearly, report planned versus realized work using the tools provided, lead monthly health and safety meetings and complete monthly compliance records.
What You Bring to the Table- A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in mining operations, with underground mining and development experience strongly preferred.
- Supervisory Common Core certification.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience coaching, mentoring and holding crews accountable in a safety-focused environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to respond effectively to daily operational challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly plan work, share expectations, report progress and lead safety discussions with crews.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in an underground production environment.
- Computer proficiency and comfort using reporting tools to track planned and completed work.
- Post-secondary education in a mining-related field and Train the Trainer qualification would be considered assets.

Physical Requirements- Ability to work in an underground mine environment, complete workplace inspections and perform supervisory duties that may include walking, standing and accessing active work areas.

- Travel Allowance of up to $25.00 CAD per day
