Mobile Maintenance Superintendent

Alamos Gold's Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada's largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos' foundation for growth for many years to come. Role Overview

As Mobile Maintenance Superintendent, you will play a strategic leadership role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance of Young-Davidson Mine's mobile equipment fleet. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will lead a team of Maintenance Supervisors responsible for approximately 80-100 employees and contractors.

Working closely with Operations, Maintenance Planning, Supply Chain, OEM partners, and contractors, you will drive maintenance excellence, maximize fleet performance, and support production objectives while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Development: Provide leadership, coaching, and support to Maintenance Supervisors while fostering a positive, engaged, and accountable workforce.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Fleet Reliability & Performance: Develop and execute maintenance strategies that maximize equipment reliability, availability, and overall fleet performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Planning, Supply Chain, OEMs, and contractors to effectively balance maintenance requirements with production commitments.
  • Continuous Improvement & Asset Management: Monitor maintenance KPIs, lead root cause failure investigations, manage budgets, and support long-term fleet replacement and asset management strategies.


What You Bring to the Table

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive maintenance experience in underground mining or heavy industrial operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading maintenance supervisors and large maintenance teams within a safety-focused environment.
  • Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Mechanical Engineer, or equivalent trade certification and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of underground mobile mining equipment, planned maintenance practices, and asset reliability principles.
  • Experience working with SAP or comparable CMMS
  • Experience managing operating and capital budgets.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
