Job Description:

The Role:

Our site in Colorado Springs is seeking an experienced metrology supervisor, which is a hybrid leadership and technical role responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of metrology inspection systems, while also leading a team that supports 24x7 manufacturing operations. This role ensures safe, reliable, and accurate inspection performance by combining strong people leadership, operational discipline, and deep technical expertise in metrology systems.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead and develop a team of engineers, technicians, and/or specialists providing metrology support across a 24x7 manufacturing operation.
  • Embrace and role model PACE Values and foster a culture of safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Manage personnel processes including performance management, coaching, goal setting, recognition, and workforce planning.
  • Ensure proper coverage planning and execution to support uninterrupted production operations.
  • Ensure safe and effective execution of all metrology and inspection activities through rigorous adherence to procedures and safe work practices.
  • Participate in audits, Gemba walks, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure all team members are trained, qualified, and fit for service.
  • Design, develop, and implement advanced metrology and vision inspection systems tailored to manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Develop and optimize inspection algorithms to detect surface and process defects (e.g., molding, plating inconsistencies).
  • Lead integration of inspection systems into new and existing production lines in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct system validation and performance analysis to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and reliability.
  • Perform and lead root cause analysis of defects and drive corrective actions.
  • Reviewing equipment status, calibration, and readiness
  • Ensure consistent execution of Leader Standard Work and administrative processes
  • Monitor and improve the performance and uptime of metrology equipment
  • Drive improvements in inspection accuracy, execution quality, and operational efficiency
  • Develop and maintain standards, procedures, and best practices for metrology and inspection systems.
  • Identify and implement technology upgrades and system enhancements.
  • Lead projects related to inspection system improvements, ensuring alignment with cost, timeline, and quality goals.
  • Stay current with emerging metrology and vision technologies and evaluate applicability.
  • Partner with automation, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to deploy and optimize inspection systems.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers and technicians.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for operations teams on system usage and interpretation of results.


What We Seek:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, or related field)
  • 3-5 years experience preferred
  • Experience in metrology, vision inspection systems, or advanced manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership or supervision
  • Strong understanding of: Vision systems and inspection technologies, Process control and defect analysis, Root cause problem-solving methodologies


Preferred
  • Experience with algorithm development or image processing
  • Familiarity with automation integration and manufacturing systems
  • Experience supporting 24x7 operations in a production environment
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience

  • Compensation: $80,000.00-$114,000.00 a year range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
