Full Job Description
As a Supervisor II, Maintenance, you will lead front-line maintenance crews who keep our operations running safely and reliably. You will coordinate work, guide complex repairs, and help your team deliver high-quality maintenance that supports unit reliability and Phillips 66's commitment to safety and operational excellence. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Operations and other partners while developing the skills and careers of the craft workers you supervise.

What You'll Do
  • Lead day-to-day maintenance activities for the machine shop, supervising craft workers and contractors to safely execute the maintenance work plan.
  • Develop and adjust short- and medium-term work schedules, allocating people and resources, managing shift rosters, vacations, and on-call coverage, and approving overtime when needed.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Planning, and Scheduling to screen notifications, prioritize work, establish daily and weekly work plans, and manage emergency and priority jobs.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex equipment and systems, guiding the team through repairs and ensuring maintenance and site-maintenance tasks meet quality, cost, and schedule expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and process safety requirements, reinforcing safe work practices, addressing at-risk behaviors, and supporting incident investigations.
  • Monitor adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, supporting audits and documentation, and planning and coordinating testing, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Coach, develop, and evaluate maintenance craft workers, ensuring required training, qualifications, and performance expectations are met while building team capability.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to increase equipment reliability, unit efficiency, and workflow effectiveness, and by leading or contributing to improvement initiatives.
  • Promote clear communication and collaboration across maintenance and operations, helping the team use internal systems and tools effectively and constructively resolving priority or conflict issues.


What You'll Bring - Required

  • 3 or more years of applicable working experience in rotating equipment and industrial machining
  • Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following:
    • Travel up to 5%
    • Operate company vehicle on site premises and / or public roads up to 50%
    • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform occasional on-call duties
    • Transport articles up to 50 pounds
    • Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet
    • Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines, around chemicals and hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat, and in harsh weather conditions.
    • Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment.
    • Maintain face daily for proper respirator/face mask seal. (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)


What Makes You Stand Out - Preferred
  • 5 or more years of maintenance or craft experience in a refinery, petrochemical, or industrial environment
  • 2 or more years of experience supervising maintenance crews, contractors, or craft workers
  • Experience planning and scheduling maintenance work using systems such as SAP PM/MM and other workflow or planning tools
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse workforce and build strong, motivated teams
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, identify critical tasks, and establish clear priorities
  • Ability to make well-thought-out decisions in a timely manner and adapt work plans to changing conditions
  • Experience leading safety programs, incident investigations, environmental processes, or other continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate strategies into clear tactics for front-line personnel


Compensation Range

This position has a base salary range of $127,800 - $156,200.

The Rodeo Renewable Energy Complex is a state-of-the-art facilityprocessing renewable feedstocks (waste oils, fats, greases, and vegetable oils) to produce vital transportation fuels, including renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuels for California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia. The Rodeo facility has been providing energy and improving lives since 1896. The conversion from crude oil to renewable feedstocks was completed in early 2024, enabling the production of lower carbon-intensity transportation fuels. The converted facility reduces lifecycle carbon emissions by approximately 65% - the equivalent of taking 1.4 million cars off California roads each year.
