Qualifications

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician Certificate required.
  • 10+ years of related experience, with 5+ years in oil and gas construction.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role, ideally as Foreman or Site Superintendent.
  • Project management experience is essential.
  • Valid Class 5 license with a clean driver abstract.
  • Current safety certifications (H2S, First Aid Level C CPR & AED, CSTS, CSO, TDG & WHMIS).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

Full Job Description
  • Role: Supervisor - Field Operations. Must hold a valid journeyperson electrician certificate
  • Location: based out of our Calgary or Edmonton branch
  • Shift: 5 days per week
  • Pre-Employment Condition: Pre-employment D&A test required


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist the project manager in the preparation of the project schedule and monitor the schedule on a weekly basis.
  • Manage day-to-day activities on site and ensure that the project runs smoothly from beginning to end.
  • Communicate effectively and astutely with employees and clients.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with consultants and clients.
  • Highlight and discuss important concerns during job site meetings.
  • Maintain a safe job site and ensure that the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act are enforced.
  • Liaise with client on a regular basis to discuss the projects status, to proactively identify and resolve problems.
  • Prepare project documentation for labour management, materials, equipment costs, expense submittals, field reports, safety meeting minutes, and change order requests.
  • Coordinate and direct quality control inspections as required.
  • Control and monitor labour, material and equipment expenses.
  • Assist the project manager in the creation of weekly and/or monthly cost forecasting summaries.
  • Ensure that "as-built" drawings are prepared on an ongoing basis during the construction project.
  • Monitor the overall procurement of the project by administering contracts, purchase orders, and other agreements to ensure the projects scope, terms, and conditions are consistently and proactively being achieved.
  • Manage any changes in project scope and ensure all changes are tracked and communicated effectively and efficiently.
  • Prepare project deficiency lists with QAQC Advisors and ensure timely resolution prior to module/skid shipment or final project turnover.
  • Maintain a neat and tidy site and office and meeting space.
  • All other duties as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must hold a valid Journeyman Electrician Certificate.
  • Typically 10 or more years of related experience, including 5 or more years' experience in the oil and gas construction field.
  • 3 or more years of people leadership experience. Foreman or Site Superintendent experience is an asset.
  • Project management experience required.
  • A valid Class 5 license with a clean driver abstract.
  • Valid H2S, First Aid Level C CPR & AED, CSTS, CSO, TDG & WHMIS safety tickets.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledgeable with MS Office, particularly with Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Must have a "team first" focus and work well in group settings.
  • Must have organizational skills and the ability to problem solve.
