Surface Electrical SupervisorAbout the roleThe Surface Electrical Supervisor is directly responsible for leading and directing the Surface Electrical Crews, while ensuring they work in a safe and productive manner at all Evolution Mining Red Lake Operation Complexes. This position applies maintenance practices in alignment with Evolution Mining's business objectives, maintenance strategy and production goals, during the daily execution of electrical equipment maintenance, instrumentation, and electrical construction activities. This position facilitates the safety of staff, the community, and the environment, while communicating on a regular basis about equipment performance including availability, reliability, repeated problems, and cost. This position works closely with the Planner, Scheduler, Reliability Engineer, and other Supervisors using a team approach to solve problems.
The position will be on a 7/7 (12- hour day) roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario.
We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $135,700 - $183,000 CAD.
Key result areas in this role include:
- Direct the activities of multi-craft (high voltage, plant electrical, instrumentation, and telecommunication) maintenance and construction crews by leading and managing work assignments for direct reports and encouraging subordinates to set and accomplish goals.
- Set goals and objectives, and effectively manage the work performance of subordinates including cost management and control of maintenance activities.
- Manage the SAP notification backlog and the SAP work order backlog for status codes 10, 70 & 80.
- Lead by example and positively influence the rest of the crew to achieve goals.
- Collaborate with Tradespersons in the development and validation of maintenance procedures.
- Verify that work orders are completed and follow-up data and work history is of sufficient quality, collected and entered into the SAP system as needed for future data analysis.
- Review and approve: work order technician comments, daily time cards, vacation requests, accident & injury reports, and disciplinary action reports.
- Create new SAP Work Orders for corrective work or future inspections that are needed, as identified by work crews during the course of equipment repairs.
- Review and approve / reject SAP Notifications from Operations, and create new corrective Work Orders as needed.
- Perform job task observations and conduct planned inspections.
- Understand and communicate expected targets and KPI's to the crew.
About youAs the Surface Electrical Supervisor, you will have a minimum of 7 years experience in the electrical discipline within the mining industry and at least 2 years experience in a Maintenance or Operations supervisory role. It is also important that you have / can demonstrate:
- Thorough working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Knowledge of CSA Z462 Workplace Electrical Safety.
- Knowledge of CSA M421 Use of Electricity in Mines.
- An aptitude for quickly learning and adapting to new computer programs.
- Willing to participate in on and off-sight training.
- Show initiative and maturity to analyze and solve problems with strong attention to detail.
- Contributes to the overall success of the team.
