Context & Environment

This role is based at the Port Arthur Platform within the Maintenance Department

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and supervise the electrical engineering team to ensure goals are met.
  • Develop and implement electrical engineering strategies and solutions.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to optimize project outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with national electrical standards and regulations.
  • Conduct technical reviews and provide guidance on complex engineering issues.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables for electrical engineering tasks.
  • Facilitate training and development for team members to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of electrical systems and components.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to address technical challenges and propose solutions.


Activities

What You Bring:
  • Familiar with IEEE standards
  • Good oral and written communication, computer, trouble shooting, interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to lead by example, logical problem-solving skills, works well in team environment, able to manage multiple/changing priorities
  • On call 24/7, prompt response is paramount in ensuring any electrical anomaly be handled with urgency
  • Extended work hours/schedules sometimes required during turn-around or project activities
  • Knowledge and experience in ANSI, NEC, NESC and OSHA 1910 standards as they apply to electrical equipment and safe work practices
  • Experience in the application of protective relaying, electrical switchgear and controls (480 to 69kV), induction and synchronous motors


Candidate Profile

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, with 5+years of experience with electrical systems within an industrial complex; or, applicable technical Associates degree with 15+ years of relevant experience in a petrochemical facility
