Full Job Description
Clinical Imaging Supervisor for Radiology. This is a Monday to Friday 8-hour shifts with as needed weekends and holidays.

Job Summary:

With broad general direction from the Director of Imaging Services and Chairperson of Radiology, supervises the daily operation and function of the administrative and clinical services of the Imaging department.

Example of Essential Functions:

  • Performs job responsibilities in an ethical, compliant manner. Complies with and implements and executes policies and procedures of the Imaging Department and Frederick Health.
  • Operates within established productivity standards. Prepares staffing schedules and ensures adequate coverage based on productivity targets.
  • Provides technical and managerial support and guidance to staff of clinical and non-clinical areas of Imaging. Understands all aspects of the administrative and clinical operations and monitors performance to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of functions.
  • Plans, performs and leads activities associated with the development and maintenance of quality practices and standards for operations. Oversees the quality control and compliance related to regulatory agencies.
  • Analyzes, develops, coordinates and executes performance and process improvement and training initiatives for Imaging Staff.
  • Interviews applicants and makes employment decisions. Facilitates orientation of new employees to operations.
  • Conducts, completes and processes annual employee performance appraisals, probationary evaluations, and conducts employee counseling and administrative disciplinary actions as appropriate, up to and including termination.
  • Effectively manages and resolves customer/patient situations. Responds professionally, promptly, and effectively to patient needs and complaints. Utilizes patient feedback to facilitate performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assists the director in preparing operating budgets and effectively analyzes performance against those budgets. Promotes and demonstrates the efficient use of supplies and equipment throughout the department.
  • Serves on and actively participates in project teams, task forces and committees as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Completion of skill competency checklist
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology
  • Ability to perform independently and possess very good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to evaluate subordinates' competencies with support as needed

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform required duties
  • BS Degree preferred
  • Five (5) years' experience and strong knowledge of Imaging services operations with demonstrated administrative and leadership skills
  • Currently licensed in the State of Maryland as certified as an ARRT (R) or (N), NCMTCB or credentials from the ARDMS as a registered diagnostic medical sonographer
  • CPR certified

Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the following age groups:

Physical Demands:

Medium-Heavy Work - Lifting up to 75 pounds on an infrequent basis (less than one lift every three minutes) and/or carrying up to 35 pounds while walking. Pushing or pulling up to 115 pounds infrequently or greater than 115 pounds occasionally (no more than once per hour).

Awkward postures include repeated or prolonged reaching, twisting, bending, kneeling, squatting, working overhead with your hands or arms, or holding fixed positions.

Contact Stress: Pressing the body hard on sharp edges can result in placing too much pressure on nerves, tendons, and blood vessels. For example, using the palm of your hand to hit or stick objects can increase risk of musculoskeletal disorders.

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. If position is part-time, salary will be pro-rated based on scheduled hours. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid, if applicable.

Salary Range: $76190.40 - $109,512.00
