Full Job Description
Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor-Anesthesiology.

In this role, the successful candidate The Anesthesia Technician Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Anesthesia Technicians as well as overseeing the daily operation of the departments technical activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Respond to pager calls for assistance
  • Coordinate among other departments on technical matters (ED, Radiology, SICU, MICU, PACU, MDD, CPD, Engineering, & Pharmacy)
  • Open and close video room for Anesthesia Grand Rounds and similar functions
  • Perform TB mask fit tests
  • Coordinate with Laboratory on the maintenance and use of I-Stat
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance with Biomed
  • Maintains and coordinates emergency equipment, carts and boxes for the department including the MH, difficult airway, epidural, regional block carts
  • Maintains and coordinates PCEA pumps
  • Coordinate with Pharmacy on Omni cell access for Anesthesia Staff
  • Represent department on Value Analysis meetings
  • In-service staff and residents on equipment
  • Evaluate safety and equipment policy and procedures
  • Evaluate new equipment
  • Develop capital budget proposals
  • Assist Anesthesiology Administrator in the budgeting process
  • Work with Chief and clinicians to evaluate and adopt new technologies
  • Monitor budget usage and determine optimum expenditure
  • Enter outside supplier orders
  • Enter Pharmacy orders
  • Enter MDD orders
  • Exchange emergency pharmacy boxes
  • Assist in morning set ups
  • Update Chief on any key situations and follow through on Anesthesia Chiefs directives
  • Monitor budget usage and determine optimum expenditure
  • Supervises staff and directs day-to-day work activities, including assigning responsibilities, setting priorities, establishing schedules, monitoring productivity and performance, and ensuring work is completed in accordance with departmental goals, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Provides ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management to staff; addresses performance and conduct concerns; administers corrective action as appropriate; and participates in or effectively recommends employment decisions, including hiring, promotion, transfer, discipline, and termination.


Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in health care related field preferred or a suitable combination of education and experience. Graduate of approved Anesthesia Technician program. Certification in BLS-C required. Basic computer skills, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook. Experience in staff development and training. Minimum of five years of supervisory and technical experience in Anesthesiology. Excellent communication skills..

Preferred Licenses: Anesthesia Tech Certification

The salary range for the role is $82,886.36 - $142,978.85 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
