The Accounting Supervisor oversees day-to-day accounting operations within the healthcare system, ensuringaccuratefinancial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and adherence to internal controls. This role provides direct supervision to accounting staff, supports month-end close activities, and partners with finance leadership tomaintainefficient, high-quality accounting processes across clinical and non-clinical entities.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities

  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Ensure adherence to GAAP, healthcare accounting standards, and organizational policies

  • Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports

  • Assistwith annual audits, cost reports, and regulatory filings; serve as a key contact for auditors

  • Monitor internal controls and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and performance management for assigned accounting staff

  • Coordinate workload distribution and prioritize deadlines to meet reporting requirements

  • Collaborate with finance, revenue cycle, supply chain, payroll, and operational leaders to resolve accounting issues

  • Support system initiatives such as new entity onboarding, system conversions, or process standardization

Education

  • Bachelors degree(Required)

Certification/Licensure

  • Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) (Preferred but not required)

Experience

  • 1 year of supervisory experience (Required)

  • 5 years of related experience(Required)

  • Experience with client server based financial systems(Preferred)

  • Healthcare and/or public accounting experience(Preferred)
