About the roleWe are looking for a Superintendent Process to help the Technical Services team deliver safe, reliable and high-quality performance across the BC Works Casting area. In this role, you'll contribute to process safety, product quality and operational improvement, while leading a skilled technical team of process specialist, metallurgists, and technicians.

What you'll be doingReporting to the Manager Technical Services you will:
- Lead process safety, team safety and technical governance across the casting process area, ensuring compliance with Rio Tinto HSE and quality standards
- Lead and develop a team of process specialists, metallurgists, and technicians to deliver safe, reliable and high-performing casting operations
- Provide technical leadership for production across Kitimat's casting facilities, supporting process optimisation, product quality and customer requirements
- Partner with Technical Services, Sales and customers to resolve technical issues, support new product development and maintain product quality standards.
- Lead improvement initiatives, conceptual studies and investment strategies that support future growth, capacity and operational performance.
- Ensure effective quality systems and laboratory performance to support operational decision-making and ISO 9001 and 14001 requirements.

Required for Success
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- Advanced problem-solving and data analysis capability, with experience applying business improvement methods in an operational environment.
- Process engineering, metallurgy or related technical experience in a large-scale industrial setting
- Experience leading technical professionals and supporting team capability and performance.
- A degree in metallurgical, materials or chemical engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience working with quality management systems and ISO 9001 requirements in an industrial operation.
Helpful for Success
- Experience with aluminium casting processes.
- Working knowledge of SAP and/or process monitoring systems, such as PI ProcessBook.

The base salary range for this role is $116,000 - $174,000 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, equity, health or retirement benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Rio Tinto. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, and impact you bring to the role.
