Superintendent, Mill Processing Inside
Location: Logan Lake, BC, Canada

Role OverviewReporting to the Manager, Mill Operations & Maintenance Execution, the Superintendent, Mill-Inside Operations is responsible for leading the day-to-day operation and technical performance of one of Canada's largest copper concentrators.
This role provides leadership to the Mill inside Operations, Metallurgy, Process Control and Technical teams, ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the grinding, flotation, leaching, filtration, concentrate handling and process optimization areas of the concentrator.

Key Responsibilities- Champion a visible, values-based safety culture by leading from the front and ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the Mill Operations, Metallurgy, Process Control and Technical teams while fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Safely deliver production commitments by optimizing throughput, recovery, concentrate quality, plant stability and operating costs.
- Lead daily operational decision-making across grinding, flotation, leaching, filtration, concentrate handling and associated processing circuits.
- Develop and mentor leaders throughout the department by providing coaching, meaningful feedback, succession planning and opportunities for growth.
- Build strong partnerships with Mill Maintenance, Mill Outside Operations, Mine Operations, Mine Engineering and Technical Services to optimize overall site performance.
- Use operational data, process knowledge and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for sustainable improvement and operational excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, reliability, productivity, recovery, cost performance and employee engagement.
- Participate in annual business planning, budgeting and forecasting while maintaining accountability for operational performance against plan.
- Support major shutdowns, projects, commissioning activities and operational readiness initiatives.
- Maintain a strong leadership presence in the plant by engaging with employees, removing barriers and reinforcing high standards of performance and behaviour.
QualificationsThe successful candidate will be an authentic leader who excels at developing people, solving complex operational challenges and building collaborative relationships across the organization.
You will bring:
- Extensive operational leadership experience within a large base metal concentrator.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in mineral processing, preferably within a unionized mining environment.
- Demonstrated success leading both operations and technical teams in a large-scale processing facility.
- Experience through the construction, commissioning, ramp-up or operation of large mineral processing plants would be considered an asset.
- A degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
- Candidates with an engineering degree must be registered as, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) as a P. Eng.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance safety, production, reliability, recovery and cost performance.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical thinking, sound judgment and effective decision-making abilities.
- Experience leading organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven conflict resolution, negotiation and facilitation skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with Indigenous communities and a commitment to building inclusive and respectful workplaces.
Pay Range: CAD $164,000 - $202,000 per year
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
