The Role

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing field operations on heavy civil projects and/or bridge and highway projects including grading, utilities, and site development. The role ensures production, safety, scheduling, and quality expectations are consistently achieved. We are seeking experienced candidates with prior experience in heavy civil, bridge and highway, or vertical construction.
Core Responsibilities
  • Field Operations Management: Manage heavy civil and/or bridge and highway field operations including erection, grading, utilities, and site development
  • Crew Coordination: Coordinate crews, subcontractors, and equipment
  • Production Tracking: Track production, costs, and schedules
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure safety and environmental compliance
  • Challenge Resolution: Identify and resolve field challenges
Candidate Profile
  • Experience: 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience
  • Infrastructure Knowledge: Experience with earthwork, utilities, and site infrastructure
  • Equipment Understanding: Strong understanding of heavy equipment operations
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and decision-making ability

Field crews, subcontractors, and/or trade leads depending on project assignment.
Work Conditions

This role operates primarily on active construction sites and may require work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, loud noise levels, and construction equipment typical of infrastructure and building projects.
Work Conditions
  • Physical Requirements: This position may require standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting materials or equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Site Duration: The role may require extended periods of time on construction sites and navigating uneven terrain.
Travel
  • Travel Requirements: Local and regional travel to project sites may be required depending on project assignment.
Compensation & Performance

  • Base Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000 annually
  • Annual Bonus: Target 10% performance-based bonus
