Description:Your opportunity:Reporting into the CAO and working under the general guidance of the Practicum Officer, the Student Placements Coordinator supports student placement and career development initiatives within the Dalla Lana School of Public Health by fostering strong relationships with students, employers, and community partners. The role provides advising and coaching to students on career-related matters, including interview preparation, resumes, cover letters, and employer expectations, while supporting equitable student success through a student-centered approach. The Coordinator also develops and delivers workshops and presentations, maintains placement-related records and databases, and coordinates administrative processes related to placements, registration, and academic standing. The position also supports school-wide events, as needed.
Your responsibilities will include:- Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with students, employers, and community partners to support student placement and work-integrated learning activities
- Coordinating and tracking student placement applications, interviews, recruitment activities, and placement-related documentation
- Advising and coaching students on interview preparation, resume and cover letter development, employer expectations, and career-related matters
- Identifying student learning and performance needs and recommending appropriate work-integrated learning opportunities
- Developing and facilitating educational workshops, seminars, and presentations related to student success and career development
- Maintaining accurate records and databases, verifying enrollment and placement information, and following up on outstanding documentation and compliance requirements
- Supporting the planning and execution of placement-related events and programming, including coordinating logistics and disseminating event information
- Reviewing administrative processes and student feedback to recommend and implement service and workflow improvements
Essential Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum four (4) years' of relevant experience coordinating student placement programs, preferably in a University setting
- Demonstrated experience advising and supporting students on career-related matters, including interview preparation, resumes, cover letters, and employer expectations
- Demonstrated experience coordinating student placement activities, recruitment processes, events, and/or workshops
- Experience developing and facilitating presentations, workshops, seminars, or instructional materials
- Experience maintaining databases, records, and documentation with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and guidelines related to student services, placements, registration, or academic processes
- Demonstrated success building collaborative relationships with students, employers, faculty, and community partners
- Experience reviewing processes and recommending improvements to administrative workflows and service delivery
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to respond to inquiries, resolve issues, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Technical skills in MS Office Suite, MS Excel, Forms, and Teams
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Demonstrated sound judgment, tact, discretion, and commitment to equity, inclusion, and student success
