In this role, you will support the rapid design and fielding of temporary structures. You will engage directly with stakeholders to define structural and functional requirements, iterating quickly to translate high-level concepts into vendor-ready design packages. Working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, you will coordinate with fabrication partners, manage revision-controlled drawing sets, resolve RFIs and technical field inquiries, and ensure all designs strictly comply with applicable codes, safety standards, and site conditions.
Shift Details & Location- Location: On-site (8082 Space Commerce Way, FL - Rocket Park (Rocket City)
What We're Looking For Education & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Structural, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of structural, civil, or mechanical engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience producing fabrication-ready design packages for external vendors.
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment with rapidly evolving requirements and iterative design changes.
Must-Have Skills- Design & Technical Documentation: Proficiency in relevant CAD/design tools with hands-on experience producing clear, revision-controlled drawing packages and documenting key design decisions.
- Vendor & RFI Coordination: Ability to interface with external fabrication vendors, resolve RFIs, provide design clarifications, and incorporate engineering changes promptly.
- Requirements & Compliance: Skill in gathering stakeholder requirements and ensuring all structural designs meet applicable codes, safety standards, and site-specific constraints.
- Field Support: Strong technical problem-solving skills to support design reviews and resolve engineering issues directly in the field.
Nice-to-Have Skills (Preferred)- Direct experience designing and deploying temporary or modular structures (including tent structures).
- Familiarity with anchorage, foundation design, and environmental load considerations (wind, seismic, snow) for temporary installations.
