This position partners closely with the Project Superintendent, design team, ownership, subcontractors, and internal project team to deliver predictable outcomes while maximizing project profitability and maintaining Layton's standards for safety, quality, and client service. This position will report to an on-site Senior Project Manager.

  • Provides leadership and overall management of structural construction scopes on complex high-rise and vertical construction projects.

  • Manages structural packages including cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, post-tensioning, structural steel, embeds, miscellaneous metals, and related structural systems.

  • Develops and manages structural sequencing and floor-cycle strategies in partnership with the Superintendent and trade partners to maintain critical project milestones.

  • Coordinates structural activities with architectural, façade, vertical transportation, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems to identify and resolve conflicts before they impact field production.

  • Assists in the preparation of project estimates and develops and manages project budgets for assigned scopes.

  • Manages procurement, negotiation, and administration of structural subcontractor and supplier agreements.

  • Manages project schedule updates and key structural milestones in partnership with the Project Superintendent, including foundation activities, vertical structure, floor-cycle durations, topping out, dry-in, and turnover milestones.

  • Evaluates structural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and coordination documents for completeness, constructability, and consistency.

  • Works closely with design teams and trade partners to resolve structural design conflicts, field conditions, embeds, penetrations, tolerances, and sequencing issues.

  • Manages structural materials and equipment procurement in alignment with the project budget and overall construction schedule.

  • Monitors project performance for quantity, cost, safety, quality, productivity, and schedule in partnership with the Superintendent.

  • Develops and monitors project quality, safety, and risk management plans with particular attention to structural construction activities.

  • Tracks structural production and proactively identifies potential schedule impacts, manpower concerns, procurement constraints, and trade coordination issues.

  • Negotiates owner and subcontractor change orders and manages resulting cost, schedule, and profit impacts.

  • Develops monthly client pay requests and follows up on collection.

  • Controls payment of job costs based on document review and approval and coordinates with project accounting regarding payments, lien releases, forecasting, and monthly project reviews.

  • Maintains strong working relationships with owners, architects, structural engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and trade partners.

  • Leads structural scope meetings and communicates project status, risks, schedule impacts, and required decisions to project stakeholders.

  • Supports final closeout procedures including as-built drawings, structural documentation, punch list completion, substantial completion, and turnover.
