The OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer/Project Manager to join our Atlanta office and play a key role in its continued growth. You'll lead complex and diverse structural projects, mentor engineers, strengthen client relationships, and help expand Bennett & Pless' presence in the market.
Typical projects would range widely; from general commercial and mixed-use facilities, industrial/manufacturing facilities, schools and higher education facilities, medical facilities, data centers and mission critical facilities. Projects will include new structures, analysis/repair of existing damaged structures, and adaptive re-use of facilities for renovation and new functionality.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading projects while remaining actively involved in structural design. At Bennett & Pless, Project Managers continue to do the engineering work they enjoy while building client relationships, mentoring engineers, and leading projects from concept through completion.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and analysis of structural systems for projects across multiple market sectors.
- Manage structural engineering projects and lead project teams, ensuring successful deliver through compliance, client requirements, QA/QC standards, budgets, and schedules.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and project partners through all phases of design and construction.
- Prepare and review engineering analyses, design calculations, and construction documents, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.
- Oversee drafting and review of BIM and AutoCAD plans torepresentdesigns accurately.
- Develop cost-effective and innovative design solutions whileparticipatingin proposal and RFI preparation.
- Mentor and oversee junior engineers and designers byprovidingtechnical guidance, coaching, and quality reviews.
- Perform facility analyses, site reviews, and moderate design tasks for a variety of structural systems and materials.
- Utilize industry-standard software such as Revit, RISA, and ETABS for design and documentation.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering,structuralengineering, ora relatedfield.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 8+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Experience managing structural engineering projects, leading project teams, and successfully balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective client and team relationships.
- Proficiencywith Revit and structural analysis/modeling software used in the design of building structures.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in Structural Engineering ora relatedfield.
- Structural Engineer (SE) license.
- Experience withmasonry, wind design,wood design, and/or other specialized structural systems.
