Full Job Description
Offshore / Subsea Structural Engineer

Location: Houston, TX (Energy Corridor)

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Offshore Structural Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our Houston-based engineering team. In this role, you will support high-profile EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) projects across the Americas region. You will focus on the structural analysis and design of subsea structures, installation aids, rigging, and seafastening for both deepwater and shallow water oil & gas and offshore wind developments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to design robust structural systems while considering real-world fabrication, cost-optimization, and vessel installation constraints.

Key Responsibilities
  • Structural Design & Analysis: Design incorporated subsea structures, sea-fastening, and installation aids. Perform structural calculations, beam modeling, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Drafting Collaboration: Provide critical geometrical, material, and tolerance data to 2D/3D Designers; review and approve engineering drawings.
  • Project Interfacing: Partner with cross-functional project specialists, including installation methods, geotechnical, flowline, fabrication, and subsea equipment teams.
  • Client & Vendor Interaction: Participate in project progress, engineering coordination, HSE, risk assessment, and technical review meetings with clients and subcontractors.
  • Procurement Support: Select standardized steel profiles and materials to optimize procurement and simplify fabrication; supervise the setup of Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and Bills of Quantities.
  • Documentation: Review client technical documentation, address client comments, establish structural design premises, and author comprehensive design reports and calculation notes.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: 3-10 years of structural engineering experience specifically within the Offshore Oil & Gas and/or Offshore Wind industries.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of offshore installation limitations, design loads, boundary conditions, and structural reliability (including corrosion, fatigue, and redundancy).
  • Software Skills:
    • FEA / Analysis: Proficiency in SACS is required; experience with ABAQUS or ANSYS is highly preferred.
    • CAD: Familiarity with AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks.
  • Communication: Exceptional English communication skills (written and verbal) for interfacing with global project teams and clients.
  • Travel: Ability and willingness to travel internationally based on project needs.
