Job Overview & Responsibilities- Job responsibilities include performing structural analysis of transportation hardware and hoist fixtures, access platforms, tools, launch platforms, booms, umbilical's and disconnects, and pipe systems.
- Evaluation of hardware non-conformances to support fabrication and launch site activities.
- Support fast-paced design/analysis cycles in support of development programs.
- Create analysis models, perform hand calculations and have an understanding of analysis best practices to provide strength inputs and recommendations for new designs and installations.
- Review and approve 2-D drawings and procurement specifications for a variety of mechanical and propulsion system components.
- Document analysis results in strength reports and support analysis peer reviews.
- When anomalies occur, supports causal analysis that leads to effective resolution and corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
- Participate in internal/external design reviews, technical interchange meetings (TIMs), and present analysis products at preliminary design reviews (PDR), critical design reviews (CDR) and design certification reviews (DCR).

Basic Qualifications- This is an entry level position that requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Builds trust with teammates, can prioritize and execute tasks effectively for self that are aligned to program plans, and has the ability to respectfully give and receive constructive criticism.
- Work may be performed at company or vendor facilities that require safety training and strict adherence to safety policies.
- Must be available for occasional travel to the other ULA sites or vendors. Must possess a valid driver's license to drive between work locations on a military base where public transportation is not available.
Preferred Qualifications- Familiarity of structural analysis concepts including:
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Classical hand analysis methods.
- Welded/bolted steel and aluminum structural analysis.
- Familiarity with mechanical ground systems.
- Familiarity with machine shop practices.
- Familiarity with Simcenter 3D and/or FEMAP for structural analysis.
- Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denver, ULA - Cape Canaveralonly): $67,895.00 - $113,159.00
