Job Description: As a Structural Construction Manager, you will be responsible for managing field construction activities for structural systems and ensuring work is completed accurately, on time, within budget, and within the scope of the contract. You will oversee compliance with construction documents, applicable codes, safety standards, quality requirements, and project schedules. You will coordinate contractors, designers, inspectors, and project stakeholders to resolve field issues, track progress, verify structural quality, and ensure successful project closeout.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze project schedules and proactively address potential impacts to structural construction activities. Review daily work plans and support monthly schedule updates based on field progress.
- Manage risks and establish recovery plans when required. Resolve structural field conflicts and disputes with minimal need for escalation.
- Review structural drawings, specifications, contract requirements, applicable building codes, and installation details to determine project requirements.
- Oversee foundations, concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, masonry, precast, and related structural framing for compliance with contract documents and accepted installation practices.
- Coordinate structural work with civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and specialty trades to identify and resolve clashes, embeds, openings, access constraints, and sequencing issues.
- Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, change documentation, erection plans, and field conditions; participate in constructability reviews and coordination meetings.
- Coordinate and monitor structural inspections and testing, including concrete placement, reinforcing steel, welding, bolted connections, and required special inspections; track and resolve deficiencies.
- Work with safety personnel to ensure structural field activities, including formwork, shoring, lifting, and steel erection, meet project and regulatory safety requirements.
- Lead or support punch-list activities, deficiency resolution, record documentation, testing reports, and turnover requirements for structural scopes.
- During the Construction Phase, proactively manage quality, schedule, budget, safety, and document control while tracking and reporting project performance.
Qualifications:Basic Requirements:- Degree in construction management, civil engineering, structural engineering, engineering technology, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
- 7-10 years of relevant construction management experience with significant structural construction experience.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating structural contractors, inspections, and field installation activities.
Preferred Qualifications:- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree a plus.
- Experience with foundations, cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, masonry, formwork/shoring, and structural framing.
- Working knowledge of structural drawings, specifications, applicable building codes, quality control, testing, and special inspection processes.
- Proven ability to follow through with completion.
