Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the West Region Bridge Practice to deliver transportation infrastructure solutions.
  • Assist in the structural analysis and design of various transportation structures.
  • Support bridge design from concept through final deliverables, taking ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Work with project managers and engineers on planning, budgeting, scheduling, and delivery of projects.
  • Ensure quality and consistency in project deliverables through engineering judgment and attention to detail.
  • Contribute to plan production using CAD markups and layout development, assisting the design team as needed.

Full Job Description
STV has an exciting opportunity for a Structural Bridge Engineering Specialist to join our Transportation and Infrastructure team in Irvine, Rancho Cucamonga, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Phoenix, or Denver. This is a strong opportunity for an early-career engineer who wants to work on highway, rail, and pedestrian bridge projects, build technical depth, and grow alongside experienced bridge professionals in a collaborative environment.

What You'll Do
  • Collaborate as a key member of STV's West Region Bridge Practice, supporting a growing team focused on delivering high-quality transportation infrastructure solutions.
  • Assist with the structural analysis and design of highway, rail, pedestrian, and related transportation structures across a variety of project types.
  • Support bridge design tasks from concept through final deliverables, while taking ownership of assigned work and contributing to overall project success.
  • Partners with project managers, engineers, and discipline leads to support project planning, budgets, schedules, specifications, and successful delivery.
  • Help maintain quality and consistency across project deliverables by applying sound engineering judgment and attention to detail.
  • Contribute to plan production through CAD markups, layout development, and coordination with the broader design team as needed including exposure to Building Information Modeling (BIM).


What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree with a structural emphasis is a plus.
  • 0-2 years of experience supporting structural or bridge engineering projects through coursework, internships, or professional practice.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain shortly after hire
  • Foundational structural analysis and design skills, with an understanding of the multidisciplinary coordination needed to deliver transportation and infrastructure projects successfully.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, coordinate assignments, and meet project deadlines in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to build strong working relationships with teammates, managers, and clients.
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation or AutoCAD, with a willingness to continue building technical design and drafting capabilities, including BIM.


Compensation Range:
$79,259.38 - $90,582.14
