About the Role

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will independently lead sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and vendor management initiatives that improve supplier value while managing risk. You will partner across the business to execute category strategies, strengthen vendor relationships, and improve how procurement work gets done.

What You'll Do

  • Lead sourcing initiatives from business need through vendor selection, due diligence, negotiation, contracting, and implementation
  • Develop and execute proactive category plans and sourcing strategies that improve economics, service quality, and risk outcomes
  • Run competitive events, including RFIs, RFPs, and reverse auctions, using clear evaluation criteria and data-driven recommendations
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, service levels, and performance measures in partnership with business stakeholders and Legal
  • Build financial analyses that identify savings opportunities, strengthen negotiations, and support purchasing decisions
  • Coordinate vendor risk assessments and due diligence across business partners and risk subject matter experts
  • Manage multiple procurement projects across categories such as Technology, Operations, Marketing, Facilities, HR, Credit Risk, and Professional Services
  • Use AI and other emerging tools to accelerate research, analysis, and repeatable workflows while protecting sensitive data and validating outputs

About You

  • 4+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, vendor management, or management consulting, with experience beyond transactional procure-to-pay activities
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven ability to independently manage sourcing and negotiation projects from initial intake through completion
  • Strong commercial judgment and experience negotiating pricing, contracts, service levels, and supplier commitments
  • Analytical problem-solving skills, including the ability to turn complex data into clear insights and recommendations
  • Clear, effective communication skills with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at different levels
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Adaptable, solutions-oriented approach with openness to feedback and changing business needs
  • You actively look for ways AI can improve research, analysis, and sourcing workflows while applying sound judgment around accuracy, confidentiality, data sensitivity, and when human validation is required

Nice to Have
  • Experience in banking, financial services, or another regulated industry
  • Familiarity with regulations and third-party risk considerations affecting financial institutions
  • Experience working in a high-growth technology environment
  • Professional certification in sourcing, procurement, or supply management

Work Location
Lehi

The above locations are eligible offices for this role. The locations have been determined to foster in-person collaboration with this role’s team or the related business lines. We utilize a hybrid work model, and our teams are in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. In-person attendance is essential for this role’s success, and remote placement will not be considered. Happen Bank offers relocation, based on actual job level.

While the position will primarily work local hours, Happen Bank is headquartered in Pacific Time and our ideal candidate will be flexible working across time zones when necessary.

Travel Requirements
As needed travel to Happen Bank offices and/or other locations, as needed.

Compensation
The target base salary range for this position is 81,000-96,000. The base salary of the role will be determined by job-related knowledge, experience, education, skills, and location. Base salary is just one part of Happen Bank's Total Rewards package. You may also be eligible for long-term awards (equity) and an annual bonus (which is based on company performance, employee performance and eligible earnings).
