As a Strategic Procurement Category Manager – Logistics, you will play a key role in defining, enhancing, optimizing, and reimagining our procurement strategies. What you’ll be responsible for each day:
- Supports logistics transformation strategies through expertise in logistics operations, including transportation and warehousing.
- From a procurement perspective, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Transportation and Logistics categories, representing more than $200 million in spend.
- Delivers annual cost savings of 3% to 5% within their category through supplier negotiations, supplier changes, specification reformulation/optimization, and competitive bidding processes.
- In partnership with and in support of the Logistics team, develops long-term sourcing strategies aligned with organizational needs across both Canada and the United States:
- Defines the optimal sourcing approach based on the type of spend (partnerships, total cost of ownership, outsourcing, etc.).
- Leads and manages RFP processes, supplier selection, negotiations and contract execution, sourcing and planning strategies, supplier performance management, and related activities.
- Identifies and recommends projects that deliver cost savings and innovative value-creation opportunities.
- Develops risk management strategies for the category in collaboration with relevant stakeholders across the organization.
- Recommends innovative initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, supported by comprehensive business cases demonstrating the impact on revenue growth, EBITDA, and capital expenditures.
The individual who will own this role:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master’s degree is considered an asset).
• Significant experience (5+ years) in logistics operations, including transportation and warehousing.
• Experience in strategic sourcing and category management is considered an asset.
• Strong business acumen.
