The RoleAs the leader of Strategic Finance Operations, you will be the primary financial and operational force multiplier for our CEO and the founding team. You are a hybrid operator-financier tasked with ensuring the company's financial infrastructure, capital allocation, and strategic planning keep pace with our lightning-fast execution.
This is a high-visibility role designed for someone who wants to see exactly how the financial engine of a high-growth, venture-backed AI startup is built from the ground up. You will act as the financial anchor for the leadership team, lead special projects spanning pricing strategy and cloud economics, lay our foundational accounting infrastructure, and ensure our capital is deployed for maximum leverage.
Responsibilities- Financial Force Multiplication: Own the financial operating rhythm of the company. Drive the budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation processes. Prepare financial packages for executive meetings, offsites, and board meetings to ensure data-driven decision-making.
- Accounting & Operations Incubation: Take ownership of our early-stage financial plumbing. From implementing our first scalable ERP/billing systems and ensuring GAAP compliance to managing vendor negotiations and payroll, you will own the finance function until it's ready to be handed off to a specialized team.
- Fundraising & Investor Relations: Partner directly with the CEO on future fundraising rounds. You will own the financial model, manage the diligence data room, track critical SaaS/AI metrics (burn rate, CAC, gross margins, NRR), and craft the financial narrative that secures our next stage of growth.
- Cross-Functional Orchestration: Ensure financial alignment across Product, Engineering, and GTM. Partner with Engineering to track and optimize AI compute/cloud costs, work with Product to model pricing for new AI features, and collaborate with Sales on compensation plans and revenue recognition.
- Strategic Communication: Draft board decks, investor updates, and company-wide performance memos. You will be responsible for synthesizing complex financial data and technical unit economics into clear, compelling narratives for both external and internal stakeholders.
Who You Are- High Agency & Low Ego: You are a "fixer." You are equally comfortable presenting a 3-year strategic financial model to Tier-1 VC partners as you are rolling up your sleeves to reconcile monthly accounts or run payroll.
- 4-7+ Years of Experience: Likely from Investment Banking, Private Equity, Big 4 Accounting (with startup experience), or a Strategic Finance / FP&A role at a high-growth startup. Experience in "founder-led" environments is a huge plus.
- Financially & Technically Fluent: You are a master of financial modeling and SaaS metrics, but you also understand the business you are modeling. You should be comfortable discussing compute costs, LLM token economics, and AI pricing structures. CPA, CFA, or deep accounting knowledge is highly preferred.
- The "CFO" Mindset: You behave like a true owner of the company's capital. You are intensely focused on ROI and operational efficiency. This role is a direct path to a future VP of Finance or CFO role.
- Master Communicator: You possess the rare ability to communicate financial realities to Google-tier engineers and complex technical unit economics to Tier-1 investors with equal clarity and authority.
Why This Role? This is the ultimate "finishing school" for a future CFO or financially-minded Founder. You will be learning directly from serial entrepreneurs who built Gmail and Chrome Security, working with partners at Accel and Foundation Capital, and building the financial engine that powers the "immune system" for the modern enterprise.
