Full Job Description
SCOPE: Performs functions to serve the designated MOU partner(s), guided by Growth Partners (GP) mandate, processes, and within the limits of the job description. The position strengthens GP consulting services by supporting the finance consulting team and enabling the partner(s) to achieve their vision and mission in a sustainable manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and collaboration with fellow SC Field leaders and fellow GP consultants.
  • Serve as a Finance Consultant to specific partner(s) and keep Lead Consultant fully informed of engagement with the partner.
  • Participate in organization reviews within the Operations and Finance areas as assigned.
  • Review and make recommendations to partner workplans affecting Strategic Finance and other interdependent competencies in coordination with Lead Consultants and consulting teams.
  • Support partner finance leaders in developing operational plans, SMART goals, and staff to establish financial services and integrate finance with other domains within the organization for overall partner success.
  • Monitor and evaluate progress in building partner financial services. Keep partner leadership informed of decisions needed for the best outcomes.
  • Facilitate the development of the partner's finance work plan with the Lead Consultant
  • Provide subject matter training as needed.
  • Develop and implement training modules in project financial management.
  • Provide coaching and training in operational planning with the budget process to partner financial leaders.
  • Review finance consulting and coaching processes and adjust as necessary. Document the knowledge, fruitful practices, and lessons learned related to finance consulting methods and results achieved.
  • Participate in GP team meetings and ongoing training.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
  • No supervision requirements.

OTHER DUTIES:
  • Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups as directed and maintain required level of knowledge pertaining to operating procedures, requirements, processes, and policies.
  • Lead and/or participate in projects or task force groups that focus on issues having organization-wide impact.
  • Perform or assist with any assignments as required or directed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional or home office environment except when traveling. When traveling, conditions may be rugged (limited access to internet, limited environmental controls (AC/Heat), limited medical assistance, malaria-prone, travel 4+ hours in vehicles on rough terrain, etc.)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Able to carry up to 30 pounds
  • Able to go places where there is limited medical assistance
  • Able to go to malaria areas
  • Able to function in an environment with limited environmental controls (AC)
  • Able to travel 4+ hours in vehicles on rough terrain

TRAVEL:

Able to travel both domestically and internationally up to 12 weeks per year

  • Bachelor's degree in business with a major in Finance or equivalent CPA qualifications or experience
  • At least 5 years' experience in a Finance Manager/Accountant position
  • Working knowledge or willingness to learn fundamentals of organizational development, cross-cultural fieldwork, international consulting, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience and proven effectiveness in mentoring others in a cross-cultural context
  • Fluency in French is preferred.
  • Able to hold a passport or visit necessary countries
