Full Job Description
Title:
Strategic Communications Analyst

KBR is seeking a Strategic Communications Analyst to support senior leadership and strategic communications operations across Space Systems Command. The successful candidate will provide analytical, reporting, media monitoring, and organizational support to enable informed decision-making, situational awareness, and effective execution of strategic communication priorities.

In addition to being highly proficient in the communication field, our ideal candidate is creative, organized, highly collaborative, able to influence peers, and interacts comfortably with senior leadership across the government and private industry. An individual who can also comfortably handle multiple projects simultaneously is also strongly desired.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed reviews of Weekly Activity Reports (WARs), ensuring submissions are complete, accurate, and relevant for senior leadership awareness.
  • Identify, analyze, and elevate key developments, emerging risks, issues, and trends requiring leadership visibility or action.
  • Synthesize information from multiple sources into concise, actionable summaries and executive-level communications products.
  • Perform daily monitoring and assessment of news, media coverage, industry developments, and organizational mentions impacting SSC missions and priorities.
  • Provide timely escalation of critical media coverage, strategic messaging considerations, and reputational risks to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Maintain an organized electronic records management system, including document control, version management, retrieval, and archival functions.
  • Support development, coordination, review, and distribution of internal and external communication products, stories, press releases, leadership messaging, and associated deliverables.
  • Coordinate communication actions, suspense management, staffing packages, and approval workflows with SSC, Public Affairs, and external stakeholders.
  • Support strategic communications planning and execution efforts that advance SSC organizational objectives and mission priorities.
  • Serve as a backup to key StratCom personnel, ensuring continuity of operations and uninterrupted support to leadership.
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality while operating in senior leader and stakeholder environments.


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, Strategic Communications, Political Science, Business, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience supporting strategic communications, public affairs, executive communications, government affairs, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, synthesize, and communicate complex information to executive-level audiences.
  • Exceptional written communication, editing, and briefing development skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment, attention to detail, and discretion.


Desired:
  • Master's degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Strategic Communications, Journalism, Political Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience supporting senior government or military leadership in strategic communications, public affairs, congressional affairs, or executive staff environments.
  • Knowledge of Space Systems Command, U.S. Space Force, Department of the Air Force, and Department of Defense organizations and processes.
  • Experience monitoring, assessing, and reporting on media coverage, public perception, and strategic communication issues.
  • Ability to translate highly technical space, acquisition, and mission content into clear and compelling communication products.
  • Familiarity with space acquisition programs, Congressional engagement, PPBE processes, and related stakeholder communication requirements.
  • Experience developing executive summaries, leadership briefings, reports, and decision-support materials.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills with demonstrated ability to identify patterns, trends, and emerging issues from large volumes of information.
  • Experience with records management, document control, and collaborative information-sharing environments.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in highly visible, politically sensitive, and mission-focused environments.


Work Environment:
  • Location: On-site at 2424 Garden of the Gods Rd.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 25%
  • Working Hours: Standard


Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40hrs

Basic Compensation:

$150,000 - $170,000

This range is for Colorado only.

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
