Barron's is seeking a versatile, highly skilled Story Editor to shape both our fast-paced daily digital coverage and our flagship weekly print magazine. In this role, you will act as a cornerstone of our editing desk, playing a crucial part in elevating the writing and storytelling across our entire newsroom.

Whether you are performing structural first edits on ambitious cover features or polishing quick-turnaround daily digital news, you will ensure our financial journalism is consistently clear, compelling, and perfectly tailored for our

You Will:
  • Perform First Edits: Execute comprehensive initial edits on features and columns assigned by others, shaping narrative flow, structure, and argument.
  • Elevate Storytelling: Act as a collaborative partner to writers and assigning editors, actively working to lift up the overall quality of writing and storytelling within the newsroom.
  • Manage Daily Digital Copy: Deftly edit daily digital articles for clarity, accuracy, and impact under tight deadlines.
  • Polish and Finalize: Execute rigorous copy editing—from substantial rewrites to meticulous final proofreading—catching lapses in logic, style, and grammar.
  • Craft Display Copy: Write punchy, search-optimized headlines and engaging captions that draw readers in.
  • Drive the Publishing Workflow: Publish articles smoothly across digital platforms (e.g., WordPress) throughout the week and prepare final copy for print production.

Base Pay Range: $130,000 - $153,000
