The Job

The Store Manager is the driving force behind the success of our high-velocity Seattle Flagship retail store and service shop. This role combines a strong emphasis on delivering an exceptional guest experience with effective team leadership, sales and service management, and comprehensive oversight of store operations. The Store Manager excels in building relationships, maintaining transparent communication, and embracing innovation. Together with their team, the Store Manager is accountable for achieving store success through exceptional customer service, active community engagement, and providing genuine and friendly customer experiences.

The Opportunity
  • Serve as an approachable, honest, transparent, and empathetic leader for the team and the business.
  • Lead and direct all store staff to consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences, surpass key performance indicators (KPIs), and achieve store goals.
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain a diverse team of employees, offering comprehensive training, consistent constructive feedback, genuine recognition, and fostering ongoing meaningful dialogue in line with evo's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) goals.
  • Create staffing schedules that align with business needs, optimize labor efficiency, and maximize productivity.
  • Provide monthly labor forecasts for full store staff, ensuring a balance between consumer demand and operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Oversee and actively manage evo Seattle's visual merchandising standards and maintain inventory integrity through regular cycle counts, shrink management, and close collaboration with buying and planning teams - ensuring the floor reflects both brand standards and data-driven assortment decisions.
  • Ensure consistent communication and adherence to company policies and practices among staff.
  • Establish a secure and supportive working environment that is respectful, positive, and free from harassment.
  • Take full responsibility for store P&L, actively managing all store expenses in line with monthly budgets and creatively addressing variances.
  • Collaborate cross-divisionally to ensure consistency across all business lines, lead company and store initiatives, and contribute valuable insights to the annual planning and budgeting process.
  • Communicate a clear vision for success, develop a plan to achieve goals, and build relationships across all levels of the business to drive success.
  • Oversee service shop operations, including technician workflow, service volume targets, turnaround time KPIs, and vendor warranty processes, ensuring the shop meets the same standard of excellence as the retail floor.
  • Manage omnichannel fulfillment operations, including ship-from-store, BOPIS (buy online, pick up in store), and in-store return workflows, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and a seamless guest experience across all channels.
  • Proactively build relationships within the local community and outdoor industry, leading in-store events, demo days, and brand partnerships that reflect evo's culture and drive meaningful guest engagement.
  • Ensure full compliance with workplace safety standards, loss prevention protocols, and relevant regulatory requirements (including OSHA), maintaining a safe environment for all team members and guests.
  • Own seasonal planning and execution, including floor transitions, staffing ramp-ups, and vendor coordination across bike, ski, and snowboard categories to ensure the store is fully prepared ahead of each season.

Requirements

The Must Haves
  • 7+ years of experience managing diverse teams and a strong passion for employee growth and development.
  • 5+ years of successful retail management experience in a complex, multi-channel, specialty retail environment, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in the outdoor industry is preferred, with a particular emphasis on bikes, skis, and/or snowboards - including product knowledge, vendor relationships, and an active participation in these sports or activities.
  • Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Adaptability, attention to detail, cash handling, communication, conflict resolution, customer service, financial literacy, inventory management, loss prevention, merchandising, multitasking, problem-solving, sales and marketing, teamwork, technology use, time management

The Nice to Haves
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software is a plus.

The base salary for this role ranges from $80,000 to $93,000 per year. Where you land in that range depends on your skills and experience, and we also factor in internal pay equity. While the full range is listed for this role, we rarely hire at the top of the range, leaving room for professional and financial growth in role.
