Structural Steel Project ManagerWage Range: $100K+ DOE
The Project Manager is the primary leader, and is directly accountable for the safety, financial performance, and team development through out a project. The Project Manager will lead the project team in the Fabrication and Erection of the entire Project. This position is responsible for providing effective leadership to the project staff and ensuring quality and timely completion of the project. Candidate should have strong communication skills, be comfortable multi-tasking, have experience and demonstrate proficiency working with Microsoft Office, Blue Beam (or similar). This position will require the individual to possess solid written communication skills as well, and be detail oriented and highly organized. The desired candidate will also work with our estimating team in continuing to establish and foster positive long-term relationships with our clients and construction partners. This position will professionally represent Agate and support Company initiatives that will continue to exceed the expectations of our clients and construction partners.
Key responsibilities include:- Provide leadership, guidance and assistance with project and client development demands
- Maintain thorough understanding of Agate Steel's contracts and maintain detailed Contract Status Reports
- Review and assist in negotiations of contracts.
- Train and monitor progress of all project engineers
- Review and manage all Project Controls; monitor budget and schedules of projects to minimize fee erosion and scope creep; escalate concerns to Agate Steel's leadership team
- Financial Review and manage all Project
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors, trade partners and owners to represent Agate Steel's core values.
- Ability to effectively manage 3 - 4 projects at one time depending on size and complexity
- Review steel erection bid packages for completeness and accuracy or reasonableness
- Analyze blueprints and documentation to estimate time
- Consult with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates and closeout procedures
- Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling fabrication
- Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project
- Compute cost by analyzing shop labor and material requirements as well as erection labor
- Check fabrication and field drawings for compatibility with contract drawings
We are seeking candidates that possess drive and determination with experience in the following;
- Minimum 5 to 15 years of relevant steel experience
- Hands on shop and field experience
- Proficiency in reading and coordinating contract drawings is a must
- Experience dealing with subcontracts and trade partners is required
- Viewpoint, Vista, Tekla/FabSuite, Blue Beam and Excel computer skills is highly desirable
- A strong work ethic and a "can-do" attitude is a must
