Overview

Chenega Global Protection is seeking a skilled and dependable Stationary Engineer to support the Bureau of Engraving and Printing by operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting critical facility systems and infrastructure.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of central plant equipment, HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, and other mechanical equipment that supports a secure, mission-critical federal facility. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional with strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues in a fast-paced operational environment.

Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain central plant equipment and building mechanical systems.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of boilers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handling units, compressors, and related equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance through gauges, meters, building automation systems, and control panels.
  • Identify operational abnormalities and take corrective action to prevent disruptions or equipment failures.
  • Respond to facility alarms, service calls, and emergency maintenance requests.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical and HVAC systems.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement repairs to restore system functionality.
  • Inspect equipment to identify wear, deficiencies, or potential failures.
  • Perform operational testing to verify equipment performance and reliability.
  • Assist with equipment repairs, component replacements, and system upgrades.
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program in HVAC, Stationary Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, or a related trade; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience operating and maintaining commercial or industrial mechanical systems.
  • Experience with HVAC equipment, boilers, chillers, refrigeration systems, pumps, and associated controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance activities.
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Stationary Engineer License or equivalent industry certification.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
  • Experience supporting federal government, manufacturing, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
  • Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience working with steam systems, water treatment systems, compressed air systems, or central utility plants.
Estimated Salary/WageUSD $49.17/Hr.
