OverviewWho we're looking forToyota's Production Engineering Stamping Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated
Stamping Engineer for New and Existing Model Projects.
The primary responsibility of this role is to perform die design responsibilities including the creation of die structure data to ensure die functionality and integrity based on manufacturing requirements.
Reporting to the Die Design Manager, the person in this role will support the Stamping department's objective to procure high-quality, low-cost stamping dies to support Toyota's strategy of building dies in North America as part of global die manufacturing capacity.
What you'll be doing - Manage individual assignments to support master schedule delivery requirements for the department.
- Create die design structure to meet all requirements outlined in the stamping process plans while identifying process improvement opportunities for quality and lower cost.
- Support outside vendors to ensure designs meet all standards and requirements for in-house manufacturing and production
- Incorporate reflection items from previous models per panel leader direction.
- Follow dies through Pattern-Casting, Construction, and Tryout phases to support countermeasures for any design issues
- Execute individual assignments to support department hoshin activities.
- Reports out weekly to panel leader on individual project milestones.
- Support hoshin achievement by participating in assigned activities
- Evaluate die structure & strength
- Measure actual die performance
- Analyzing root cause (failure mode) of broken dies
- Travel to locations other than Kentucky (includes international travel)
What you bring - Bachelor's degree (or higher) in an engineering or technical discipline or equivalent related work experience
- At least 2 years of technical writing experience
- At least 2 years of stamping die design experience
- At least 2 years of experience with Catia
- At least 2 years of experience in die structure
Added bonus if you have- Toyota Business Practice (TBP) panel completion
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience
- Die manufacturing process experience
