  • Experience with Android BSP, Kernel Drivers, Android Internals, Embedded Processors.


About the job

The Pixel System Power team owns the battery life aspect of the Pixel system software, which is a problem that straddles both software and hardware domains. We work with teams spanning the entire software and hardware stack to define, prototype, optimize and bring to the consumer devices software solutions that deliver awesome battery life and user experiences.

As part of the Pixel Systems Power group, you will focus on power and performance. You will work cross-functionally across silicon and software teams to drive power optimizations and improve the battery-life experiences of users. You will also be responsible for coordinating efforts with teams across Android platforms, applications and hardware teams to ensure great battery life for Pixel devices.
The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google's artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities
  • Drive system power design optimized for battery life and thermals.
  • Analyze and optimize the hardware and software interlock across the key components of the SOC like CPU, GPU, memory subsystem, and system components such as NPUs, cameras, display, connectivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on battery, charging and fuel gauge solutions and own system validation for charging. Debug and resolve battery drain and thermal issues.
  • Validate for power consumption, develop tools and tests for validating and monitoring power consumption.
  • Provide inputs to architecture teams on new SOC and system features and initiatives to improve power.
