Full Job Description
The Trade PMR team provides software services for investment advisors, acting as a custodian and offering a high-scale platform for trading, account management, and customer relationship management. The team is currently undergoing a significant transformation post-acquisition, scaling its platform to integrate deeply with core Robinhood systems and support a massive influx of larger advisors. This is a high-visibility team where your work directly shapes the future of Robinhood's B2B and advisory FinTech offering!

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Trade PMR team, you will be a technical leader responsible for evolving the Fusion platform. You will architect the backend systems that provide a holistic view of client data for advisors and build out the foundational infrastructure required to support Dual Custody and Robinhood custodied accounts. You'll have a broad scope of impact, working on critical integration projects that bridge the gap between retail and advisory services while ensuring the platform remains performant and scalable.

This role is based in our New York, NY office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.
What you'll do:
  • Lead the design and implementation of highly scalable software services for the Trade PMR platform using .NET and AWS.
  • Drive the technical roadmap for major initiatives, including integrating deeply with Robinhood services and building the infrastructure to support Dual Custody.
  • Architect backend solutions that ensure the platform can support significantly larger advisors and increased client activity.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to mid-level and junior engineers across the TradePMR organization.
  • Maintain and enhance the core Fusion software, ensuring high availability, safety, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align engineering efforts with the broader company strategy for the RIA industry.
What you bring:
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend systems.
  • Advanced mastery-level proficiency in designing, building, and maintaining high-throughput, low-latency distributed infrastructure and secure data pipelines using .NET
  • Deep expertise in domain modeling, microservices architecture, and building highly reliable APIs capable of orchestrating complex cross-functional data flows across multiple engineering domains.
  • Demonstrable execution in a zero-to-one product space, navigating high levels of technical ambiguity, setting foundational engineering patterns, and systematically de-risking complex technical blockers.
  • Experience serving as a primary technical point of contact across an entire organization, with a strong commitment to raising the engineering bar by sponsoring and mentoring senior engineers.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a proven capability to partner closely with Product, Security and Compliance partners to translate highly complex legal or regulatory constraints into clean, maintainable backend infrastructure.
Bonus:
  • Experience in the RIA (Registered Investment Advisor) or Wealth Management industry.
  • Experience scaling B2B platforms, working on post-acquisition integrations, or building Dual Custody infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL or React.
What we offer
  • Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career
  • Performance-driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, bonus programs, equity ownership, and 401(k) matching
  • Best-in-class benefits to fuel your work, including 100% paid health insurance for employees with 90% coverage for dependents
  • Lifestyle wallet-a highly flexible benefits spending account for wellness, learning, and more
  • Employer-paid life & disability insurance, fertility benefits, and mental health benefits
  • Time off to recharge including company holidays, paid time off, sick time, parental leave, and more
  • Exceptional office experience with catered meals, events, and comfortable workspaces
