PayPal, Inc. seeks Staff Software Engineer in New York, NY
Job Duties: Analyze requirements, prepare design, and develop robust, scalable software applications and features using object-oriented programming and backend language. Architect and develop large-scale backend systems. Design, build, and maintain complex RESTful APls and microservices. Exercise leadership in guiding engineering teams through complex technical challenges and design decisions. Monitor and test newly implemented applications for reliability, security, and performance. Document findings and present to senior management with proposed solutions. Develop automated tests and deliver high-quality software code to production within a short development cycle in the continuous integration and delivery environment. Build, test, and deploy containerized applications. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field plus eight years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience designing and developing large-scale software applications using Object-Oriented Design and Java (8 years)
2. Experience with RESTful API Web services development using Java, Spring, SpringBoot (8 years)
3. Expertise in development using JSON in Java environments for scalable and highly available web services/APIs (8 years)
4. Working experience on OAuth and similar authentication mechanisms (5 years)
5. Back-end Java services development using servlet containers, JMS, JPA, Spring MVC, Hibernate (8 years)
6. Experience with SQL Databases MySQL, Oracle (8 years)
7. Experience with NoSQL databases MongoDB, CassandraDB, DynamoDB (5 years)
8. Working experience on AWS environment and AWS services/tools - S3, Lambda, API gateway, SNS, SQS, Elasticsearch, ECS, EKS, Lambda step functions, Route53, VPC, Athena, Bedrock, CloudFront, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, CloudFormation (5 years)
9. Front-end development experience on React JS, Angular JS, node JS, Typescript/Javascript (5 years)
10. Experience in containerization using Kubernetes, Docker, Ec2. (5 years)
11. Experience in CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Harness (5 years)
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
Primary Location | Pay Range:
New York, NY | Salary: $193,461.00-300,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
