JOB TITLE:      Staff Software Engineer

LOCATION:    Coppell, TX (hybrid role, may work from home)

DUTIES: Design, implement, and test high-quality software solutions; leverage modern technologies such as Java and Spring Boot framework to build scalable, maintainable backend services, ensuring robust unit test coverage for CI/CD pipelines; engage in agile team activities including backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives; collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into well-defined user stories; prioritize features and incorporate feedback to ensure alignment with business and technical goals; take ownership of designing technical solutions for user stories, translating high-level designs into detailed subtasks; apply architectural best practices within a microservices framework to ensure modularity and scalability across distributed systems; incorporate security best practices throughout the development lifecycle; stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and frameworks, including advancements in Java, Spring Boot, Snowflake, and Azure cloud services; serve as a subject matter expert in a designated technical area; provide in-depth technical guidance and troubleshooting support for implementation and operational issues; lead the design and architecture of next-generation system solutions, leveraging microservices principles and Spring Boot for application development, and Snowflake for cloud data storage and analytics; implement and document automation strategies to streamline deployment and scaling in Azure cloud environments; mentor junior engineers and evaluate their adherence to technical and interpersonal best practices; provide guidance on coding standards, design patterns, and collaborative teamwork; provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for day-to-day system operations; implement monitoring, alerting, and scaling solutions to maintain system reliability.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer/Developer, Technical Architect/Consultant, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 8 years in software design and development using Java; 5 years in Spring boot framework, Microservices architecture, SQL, databases, and version control; 3 years with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP, application integrations, and implementing CI/CD pipelines; and 2 years in software testing. Hybrid role, ability to work from home.

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data.  Minimums and maximums may vary based on location.  Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors.  In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
