Full Job Description
Our Enterprise team builds the platform that lets the world's leading life sciences organizations securely adopt and scale BioRender. As a Staff Software Engineer on this team, you'll own core platform capabilities like identity, permissions, and enterprise integrations - and help shape how BioRender connects with AI-native workflows and agentic platforms as they become a bigger part of how scientists work.

What you'll be doing:

  • Build AI-native integrations: Explore and develop how BioRender connects with emerging AI tools and platforms as protocols like MCP continue to evolve.
  • Advance our enterprise platform: Own and evolve core capabilities across identity, authorization, provisioning, and enterprise integrations.
  • Turn emerging technology into reliable products: Experiment with new AI and agentic capabilities, then strengthen them for secure, robust, and scalable enterprise use.
  • Drive technical direction: Bring structure to ambiguous problems and lead complex initiatives from architecture through implementation, launch, and iteration.
  • Design and build: Develop scalable full-stack solutions with a strong focus on backend systems, APIs, security, reliability, and performance.
  • Raise the engineering bar: Lead technical reviews, mentor other engineers, and improve the architecture and practices that support the team's long-term growth.

What you bring:

  • Staff-level engineering leadership: With 10+ years of software engineering experience, you've led complex technical initiatives, influenced architecture, and helped other engineers make better technical decisions.
  • Full-lifecycle ownership: You can take an ambiguous problem from early exploration and system design through implementation, production launch, and continued iteration.
  • Full-stack expertise with backend depth: You have significant experience building scalable systems, APIs, and platform capabilities, with strong judgment around security, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • AI-native engineering: You use AI throughout your development workflow and have hands-on experience building LLM-powered products, agentic workflows, MCP integrations, or similar AI-enabled systems.
  • Pragmatic technical judgment: You know how to balance long-term architectural investments with speed, customer needs, and measurable product impact.
  • Clear communication and collaboration: You bring structure to complex problems, explain technical trade-offs clearly, and build alignment across engineering, product, and design.

Nice to have:

  • Experience building enterprise SaaS products in an early-stage or high-growth environment.
  • Experience with identity and access management, including technologies such as OAuth/OIDC, SSO, SCIM, or role-based authorization.
  • Experience designing APIs and third-party integrations within enterprise ecosystems.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, particularly Terraform.
