Full Job Description
We9re looking for a product manager to own Mercury9s API, our integrations with the broader AI and developer tool ecosystem, and the AI-powered product experiences we9re building to make Mercury programmable and intelligent. This is a role for someone who9s been building in the API and AI space already and who sees the opportunity to make a bank programmable as one of the most interesting product problems available right now.

*Mercury is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank. Banking services provided through Choice Financial Group and Column N.A., Members FDIC.

As part of the journey, we would expect you to:
  • Own the roadmap for Mercury9s API and drive it from niche, read-heavy usage toward a comprehensive platform that enables customers to build on top of Mercury
  • Define Mercury9s strategy for connecting to the broader ecosystem of AI tools and developer platforms including how we expose capabilities, what integrations we prioritize, and how we become a first-class citizen in agentic workflows
  • Lead the product vision for how AI transforms the way people interact with their finances inside Mercury: from asking questions about their business to taking action on their behalf
  • Develop a deep understanding of how Mercury9s most technical customers use our API today, and what they9re trying to do that they can9t yet
  • Partner with engineering to make hard technical tradeoffs about API design, data access, and capabilities: you should be able to hold your own in these conversations
  • Work closely with Mercury9s growth and partnerships teams to ensure our API and AI products are a competitive advantage in acquisition and retention
  • Navigate a high-velocity environment where leadership cares deeply about this space and expects you to move fast and think originally

Some things that might make you successful in a role like this:
  • You9re genuinely excited about what9s happening in AI right now and are actively building with these tools. You have side projects. You have opinions about where agents are going. You9ve used MCP. You9re not waiting for someone to tell you what9s possible
  • 10+ years of product management experience, with meaningful time spent building API products, developer tools, or AI-powered products. You9ve worked on things that are largely invisible to end users but critically important to the people who use them
  • You understand what it means to build for developers and technical users
  • You thrive in a culture where leadership is deeply engaged
  • You can take a nascent product area with real traction and turn it into a coherent strategy with a clear roadmap

The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity (stock options/RSUs), and benefits.

Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate9s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.

Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are the following:
  • US employees (any location): $239,000 - $298,800
  • Canadian employees (any location): CAD 225,900 - 282,400
