Job descriptionM Chest Pharmacy is seeking Full Time Staff Pharmacist to become a part of our team at our Houston, TX location! We are a closed door, LTC Pharmacy.
Specifically, you will be asked to:- Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, route of administration, potential drug interactions, and special geriatric considerations, warnings/precautions associated with prescribed medication, potential adverse reactions, and stability.
- Procures and maintains all required documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations, as well as M CHEST policy. Ensures accuracy of filled medications.
- Conduct audits of automated dispensing machines to ensure accuracy of filled medications.
- Provides Clinical expertise by responding professionally to medication related questions.
- Assists the PIC with instructing, directing and overseeing pharmacy technicians and staff.
- Follows current guidelines for preparing all compounds, including I.V. therapy.
- Strives for compliance by all staff with internal controls and state and federal regulations.
- Participates in the development and successful implementation of plan(s) of improvement as indicated, recommended and/or required by Supervisor, Manager, or any other home office or regulatory compliance consultant. Communicates progress toward goals and ongoing obstacles to supervisor and company management team, verbally and/or in writing or as dictated.
Qualified applicants must have:- A bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy or PharmD
- A current, unrestricted Texas Pharmacist License
Preferred applicants will have:- Long-term-care and FrameworkLTC software experience preferred but not required.

Schedule:This role requires a flexible schedule to support operational needs: - Weekday Hours:
Shifts may begin as early as 7:00 AM and end as late as 8:00 PM.
Typical shifts range from 8 to 11 hours, including a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. - Weekend Coverage:
Participation in a rotating schedule for every other weekend is required.
Weekend shifts generally fall between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM and range from 9 to 11 hours, including a 1-hour lunch break. - Holidays:
Availability to work select holidays on a rotating basis. - Overnight Coverage:
Occasional overnight shifts may be required, assigned on a rotating, as-needed basis. - Remote Work Option:
Remote work opportunities may be available on a rotating schedule, based on team needs and employee preference.
