Full Job Description
The ideal candidate is advanced in mechanical design and analysis techniques and has a willingness to learn anything and everything about opto-mechanics. Creativity, curiosity, adaptability, and openness to feedback are essential.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Own the mechanical architecture from concept to development of full opto-mechanical systems or major modules.
• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Develop detailed mechanical engineering drawings, BoMs, technical reports, and test documentation.
• Collect, analyze, and document experimental data to support design verification.
• Collaborate with optical and electrical engineers to integrate optics into larger systems.
• Guide design trade-offs affecting performance, cost, reliability, and schedule.
• Work with the customer to translate their requirements into technical specifications.
• Provide input to sales teams to support quote and statement-of-work development.
• Supplier capability evaluation, process control, jig/fixture design, and advanced DFM.

Skills and Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, integration, and testing.
• Skilled in using industry-standard CAD and FEA software (SolidWorks and Ansys desired) for mechanical design and simulation.
• Ability to influence cross-functional technical outcomes across engineering disciplines.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm and skills for hands-on work.
• Demonstrated motivation with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions.
• Excellent communication skills, including technical writing:

o Write test reports, work instructions, and communicate between interdisciplinary teams of engineers.
• Master's degree in mechanical engineering (desired).
• Experience with opto-mechanical integration and tolerance analysis (desired).
