  • Coordinate with compliance and rate departments for agency consistency
  • Retrieve data from financial systems for audit requests and monthly reports
  • Collaborate with accounting and corporate offices for assessments
  • Track DLR performance and planning by program and division

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Financial Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA or in Melbourne, FL

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Development of AS indirect rates through modeling, innovation, and execution of cost accounting methodologies
  • Provide monthly review and analysis of the actual rates and cost incurred versus forecasts and provide variance explanations to the leadership team.
  • Provide reports and financial forecasting support for Budgets, Rates, and Overhead Management
  • Coordination with sector compliance and rate departments to ensure consistent approach and messaging to government counterparts
  • Pull data from financial systems to support audit requests, monthly financial reports, fact-finding, and negotiation discussions related to the Forward Pricing Rate Proposal (FPRP) and other Sector audits
  • Interface with accounting and corporate office to provide monthly assessments
  • Support all activities related to Budgets, Rates, and Overhead Management
  • Metrics:
    • DLR Tracking by Program and Division
    • DLR Planning by Program and Division to track performance to FPRA


Basic Qualifications for Staff Financial Analyst (Level 5):
  • Bachelor's degree with 15 years of Finance, Accounting, and/or Business-related experience, or a Master's degree with 13 years of stated experience
  • Requires intermediate to advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business-related discipline
  • Experience with Financial and Business systems (COGNOS, SAP)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Expertise in financial analysis and financial forecasting in the Aerospace and Defense industry
  • Candidate has the ability to identify issues and problems and make recommendations to management for resolution or mitigation
  • Active US Government Secret Clearance
  • Knowledge of EVMS/FAR/DFARS


Salary ranges will be dependent upon position level AND where the position is based and follows our company geographic salary bands aligned with position. Specific salary offer for candidate selected will be commensurate with experience and where the candidate will be located to perform the work.

Florida Salary Band: $126,400-$189,600

California Salary Band: $146,300 - 219,500

Primary Level Salary Range: $126,400.00 - $219,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
