The Staff Enterprise Data Architect defines the overarching architectural vision and framework for Oura's enterprise data ecosystem, ensuring total alignment with long-term business strategy. This role serves as a primary advisor to enterprise architecture and executive leadership on technology strategy, data investments, and the evolution of our competitive position. You will lead enterprise-wide transformations that scale our data platforms, models, and flows across all business domains while fostering a culture of operational excellence and compliance. By translating high-level business goals into coherent data strategies, you will ensure our data remains a scalable, well-governed asset for critical decision-making and innovation.
What you will do- Lead the definition and implementation of the enterprise architectural data vision, enhancing organizational agility and innovation across the Oura data domain landscape designing and enhancing data mesh products.
- Serve as a key advisor to enterprise architecture, executive leadership, and cross-functional partners (Data and Analytics, CI/CD, Engineering) to design a roadmap for a unified data platform supporting advanced analytics, reporting, and AI/ML use cases.
- Cultivate and guide a community of senior domain and data architects, establishing the enterprise-level reference architectures, principles, and standards they use to execute our objectives.
- Drive enterprise-wide transformation by establishing rigorous data modeling, lineage, and quality standards, embedding them into the fabric of Oura's development and operational lifecycles.
- Facilitate strategic discussions with global stakeholders to ensure technology investments support overarching business goals, including data sovereignty and residency patterns across global jurisdictions.
- Shape high-impact initiatives and RFPs as the primary architecture partner, ensuring every major technology decision aligns with Oura's strategic data vision and long-term operational efficiency.
Requirements
We would love to consider you for this role if you have:- 10+ years of experience acting at the Staff Enterprise level for a large organization.
- 10+ years leading data transformation designing and implementing large scale data transformations with an emphasis on AI coding and governance.
- A leading Enterprise Data Architect designing data platforms, models, and integrations across multiple domains (e.g., IT, Finance, HR, Operations, Supply Chain, Corporate).
- Recognized as an expert in modern data architectures (e.g., cloud data warehouses/lakes, event streaming, semantic layers, BI/analytics tooling) and how they support analytics, reporting, and AI.
- Hands-on experience establishing and enforcing data modeling, governance, and quality standards (e.g., lineage, catalog, classifications, SLAs) across teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work with senior stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Operations, HR, Engineering, IT, GRC) to translate business ideas and strategic direction into pragmatic, scalable data designs.
- Understands business architecture and capability engineering and how it relates to expansive, global data estates.
- Excellent communication skills, with a track record of producing clear diagrams, documentation, and decision materials that help non-technical leaders understand data trade-offs and options.
- Demonstrated AI fluency at an expert IC level: regular use of LLM assistants and agents (e.g., Claude) in data-focused work (research, modeling, documentation, impact analysis)
- Strategically aligns the uses of AI and agents to facilitate faster design and delivery.
- Human in the loop for verifying and refining AI output
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development and AI app-building tools to ship real artifacts such as data analysis helpers, documentation generators, or internal tools that improve data architecture workflows.

While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
