Who you are:

As a Staff Engineer - Midrange, you are our subject matter expert, leading technical efforts on OpenShift. You believe in effective communication and innovation and are excited to collaborate with others towards succeeding business objectives. Our Staff Engineers have a passion for people as they provide leadership and guidance to team members. You welcome a challenge and strive to continuously optimize system and program functionality with integrity, caring and excellence in mind.

What you'll do:
  • Plan, implement, configure, and support OpenShift systems and applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and alignment with enterprise standards
  • Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve the most complex OpenShift issues and escalations to minimize downtime and restoring services efficiently
  • Perform root cause analysis and document resolution strategies, promoting continuous improvement and long-term stability
  • Collaborate with IT teams, management, and business units on cross-functional projects, supporting infrastructure, security, and large-scale outage recovery across OpenShift environments
  • Develop automation tools for provisioning, management, and security, increasing operational efficiency and ensuring repeatability in OpenShift environments
  • Identify and lead enhancement projects for systems and applications, driving improvements in performance, security, and scalability across the enterprise

What you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge in independently diagnosing and resolving intricate issues across interconnected programs and systems, ability to develop and implement effective, innovative solutions, typically requiring a minimum of 6+ years of experience
  • 3+ years of experience with architecting, building, and supporting production OpenShift clusters
  • Extensive experience in managing complex project and solving advanced engineering related issues
  • Experience with project management methodologies
  • Strong knowledge in designing, analyzing, and optimizing complex systems or products
  • Advanced knowledge in specific engineering disciplines and technologies such as Microsoft 365 Technologies, Azure Active Directory
  • Ability to align engineering projects with organizational goals and contribute to strategic planning
  • Ability to lead technical teams and provide direction on complex technical issues
  • Experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes storage such as PortWorx
  • Experience with ArgoCD (GitOps) technology and best practices
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and upgrading Operators
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Office applications


Additional Preferred Skills:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer + OpenShift Specialization certifications
  • Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) certification
