Description

As a Staff Engineer working within our well-established Solid Waste practice area, you will collaborate with a team of multi-disciplined engineers and scientists, project managers, CAD designers, and other staff to service our client's needs. This role will support a wide range of projects related to solid waste management, environmental services, geotechnical engineering, water resources, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control planning, and construction administration.

Requirements
• Prepare, review, and update design drawings and investigation reports.
• Observe and monitor field work to analyze possible problems.
• Perform and/or check technical calculations.
• Use the principles of civil and environmental engineering to develop solutions to environmental problems.
• Prepare technical reports, letters, emails, permit applications, etc. for projects.
• Collaborate with other team members to meet deliverables on project and obtain further knowledge and experiences.
• Effectively communicate with key stake holders including project manager, project engineers, and other members of the project team.
• Pro-actively recognize conditions and problems of non-routine nature, develop solutions, and seek guidance when needed.

Base Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering
• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D.
• A self-starter possessing strong communication, planning and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Desire to work on multiple projects in parallel rather than a single large project for months.
• Requires travel to job sites and occasionally out of the local area overnight stay.

Preferred Requirements:
• E.I.T. certification or the opportunity to obtain certification can be developed.

Physical Requirements:
• Mobility: Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, navigate uneven or rocky terrain, and climb stairs or ladders.
• Lifting & Carrying: Capability to lift and move equipment or samples safely, typically weighing up to 35 to 50 lbs.
