The Lockheed Martin FBM Program is seeking an experienced and skilled Staff Embedded Systems Integration & Test Engineer
to join our embedded Systems Engineering Team.
The Staff Embedded Systems Integration & Test Engineer will lead and execute end-to-end integration, verification, and validation activities for the D5LE2 Missile TMK2 Package Level Requirements. The role encompasses brass-board prototyping, configuration management, test-plan development, test-method definition, and coordination with EGSE/ESE/TMK2 teams to ensure successful delivery of hardware-software interfaces, test documentation, and baseline verification approaches.
Core Responsibilities:
Prototyping & Support
• Provide ESE-level brass-board design and rapid-prototype support.
• Translate prototype findings into configuration-management updates.
Configuration Management (CM)
• Manage document approvals, review cycles, and secure vaulting of all CM artifacts.
Test Program Planning
• Initialize, draft, review, and finalize the D5LE2 TMK2 Integration Test Program Plan (Volume 2).
• Develop, document, and vault TMK2 package test plans for Engineering Development Units (EDU).
Test Objective Definition
• Lead creation of CDRL test-objective documents from concept through approval and vaulting.
Test Methodology & VCRM
• Determine and update test methods based on development test results.
• Draft, review, approve, and baseline Package Level Weapon Specification Verification, Configuration & Requirements Management (VCRM) approaches.
EGSE/ESE Coordination
• Plan and coordinate ATR integration into EGSE test consoles.
• Decompose Package Level Weapon Specification ATRs into discrete interfaces; produce and review final interface & test documentation for EGSE.
• Developing and managing System Engineering processes.
Leadership & Communication
• Facilitate cross-functional reviews, orchestrate stakeholder approvals, and maintain traceability throughout the program lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers on Systems Engineering practices.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems integration, test & evaluation, or hardware prototyping for aerospace/defense programs.
• Active Secret clearance or recently held Secret clearance. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Top Secret clearance (or higher).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency preparing technical documentation, test plans, and review packages.
• Ability to work in classified environments.
• Ability to work onsite full time.
Desired skills
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• Hands-on experience with brass-board/PCB prototyping and rapid-hardware development.
• Proficiency in configuration-management tools (e.g., CM2, JIRA, DOORS, or similar).
• Familiarity with missile/weapon system integration testing and TMK/TIM processes.
• Experience drafting and baselining test-objective documents (CDRLs).
• Ability to develop and execute integration test program plans (vol. 1/2) for complex weapon systems.
• Knowledge of EGSE/ESE test-console environments and ATR integration.
• Understanding of Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) design and implementation.
• Experience with VCRM (Verification, Configuration, Requirements Management) methodologies.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-498/IEEE-828 or equivalent configuration-management standards.
• CAD/ECAD tools (Altium, Mentor, Cadence).
• Modeling & simulation (MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS).
Leadership
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary review boards and mentor junior staff.
• Demonstrated project-management competence (schedule, risk, and deliverable tracking).

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $125,600 - $217,695. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
