Full Job Description
Location: While this role is open to remote candidates across the United States, team members located within 40 miles of our Scottsdale headquarters (9451 E. Via de Ventura, Scottsdale, AZ 85256) are expected to work onsite four days per week to support collaboration, speed, and execution. Specific scheduling and flexibility will be guided by your leader to support both team collaboration and individual productivity.

The Staff DevOps Engineer is responsible for the building, maintenance, administration, programming and automation of cloud infrastructure. The role creates new tools and workflows as well as using and updating existing systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working in tandem with the Engineering team to identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions for the company
  • Managing cloud environments in accordance with security guidelines
  • Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives and providing relevant training
  • Staying current with industry trends and making recommendations to help the company excel
  • Promoting and training best practices with software development teams

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of software development or DevOps experience
  • AWS/GCP Solutions Architect, Cloud Security, OpenStack Administrator and/or other cloud-related certification(s) required
  • Expert level experience with cloud container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, GKE/ECS or related is required.
  • CI/CD and related experience with Jenkins, Github, Nexus, or similar technologies is required.
  • Experience implementing middleware technologies like Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ and NGINX.
  • Strong software engineering experience including client/server web development (HTML, JavaScript, Java), server administration, programming and automation.
  • Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience with application performance monitoring and logging tools like Datadog, Splunk, ELK.
  • Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks.
  • Extensive experience with open-source technology, software development and system engineering.

Depending on the position, compensation may include base salary and/or hourly wages, incentives, or bonuses.

The expected hiring range is 110,000 - $175,000. A different level in the job hierarchy may apply to a specific candidate, resulting in a different hiring range.
